GEM Enterprise is an engineering practice. For selected scopes, we also deliver engineering-led construction packages, where close design-to-site feedback reduces risk, improves buildability, and protects the programme.

Our delivery model is flexible and agreed at the appointment stage:
• Consultancy only (design, reporting and technical assurance)
• Engineering-led delivery packages (delivered directly or through specialist subcontract partners)
• Partnered delivery with a Principal Contractor (GEM as specialist engineer and technical lead)

What we deliver (typical packages)
• Intrusive investigations and opening-up packages (with access and making-good delivered by specialist partners)
• Localised structural repairs and strengthening packages
• Steelwork modifications and installation packages (subject to scope and risk profile)
• Temporary works-led packages (propping, needle beams, façade retention elements, sequencing and hold points)
• Concrete repair packages and durability upgrades (engineering-led, with specialist repair contractors)

How we manage risk and compliance
• Clear role definition under CDM (Client / Principal Designer / Principal Contractor responsibilities agreed and documented)
• RAMS and permit-to-work interfaces agreed with all delivery parties
• Engineering hold points and inspection records (ITPs, photo records, red-line as-builts)
• Temporary works governance aligned to BS 5975 principles
• Coordination of specialist testing and validation where required (UKAS testing and specialist surveys via approved partners)

Insurance and delivery arrangements
We maintain professional and public liability insurances suitable for engineering services. Where construction delivery is undertaken, we confirm project-specific insurance requirements and implement appropriate cover arrangements for the contracting entity and supply chain.
